Meet the Sister
How has KGD changed your life?
KGD has helped me step out of my comfort zone and gain professional skills that will be useful in the workplace. It helped me learn how to push my boundaries to achieve more than what I thought I could and still lead a balanced life. KGD has also bonded me with my sisters that I know I will stay in touch with long after we have all graduated from UCD.
Favorite part of KGD?
My favorite part of KGD is getting to have fun and spend time with the same girls that will take the time to study and discuss professional school with you. Everyone knows everyone in the sorority and I feel that intimacy is one thing that larger sororities lack. I know that I can go to every one of my sisters and feel comfortable grabbing coffee and studying with them.
Extracurriculars and interests?
I currently work in an NPB lab on campus where we study environmental endocrinology and its effects on the brain as well as the reproductive system. My passion for performing started when I joined my school's color guard 13 years ago when I was 8 years old. Fast forward to now and I have just finished my 4th year with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps as a part of their award winning color guard. Additionally, I am also the Head Color Guard Instructor at Rodriguez High School in Fairfield, CA.
Fun fact about yourself:
I am a 2-time Drum Corps International World Champion and performed at Super Bowl 50!
