Meet the Sister
Why did you join KGD?
I felt really unconnected to my campus and my peers. After attending the info night, I knew that I had found a really special group of girls that were committed to support each other and achieve their dreams. That is something really special and unique that I wanted to be a part of as soon as I saw.
How has KGD changed your life?
Kappa Gamma Delta has introduced me to some of the best friends that I have. I love having one of my sisters in basically all of my classes and always seeing them around campus. I feel like it’s really easy to feel alone in college and it can be a lot different from the experiences you had in high school and KGD gave me that support system that I was missing.
Favorite part of KGD?
As I said before, I love seeing my smiling sisters all over campus! I know it sounds small, but just getting that mid-day hug can really brighten my day, especially if I just got out of a long or tedious class. I really just love getting to spend time with my sisters, no matter what we’re doing.
Extracurriculars and interests?
I’m currently working in Professor Jelmer Eerken’s lab in the Anthropology Department. I help drill and clean ancient teeth to prepare them for stable isotope analysis. I love hanging out with my friends, eating food and watching tv/movies. My favorite things to do are probably to hike and go to the beach (but I’ve had to find new interests while away from home). I love doing yoga, making jewelry and playing with my new puppy, Tansy. The way to my heart is by feeding me smoothies and burritos. I’m also really into astrology (not horoscopes) and I love talking to people about their charts!
Fun fact about yourself:
I’m related to Elvis.
