Meet the Sister: Lisa Teixeira
Position: Pledge Mother 2012
Pledge Class: Alpha Omicron - Spring 2010
Major/Minor: Biochemistry major with a geology minor
Future Career Plans: After medical school I'd love to pursue a career as a surgeon with a specialty in organ transplants.
Why did you join KGD?
I commuted my first two quarters of college, which made it really hard to make friends so I wanted to be a part of a wonderul group of women who had the same quirks, passion for service, and drive to succeed as I did.
How has KGD changed your life?
In so many ways I am not the same girl I was before pledge quarter. I have become more confident, friendly, content, and have 40 plus ladies who I consider great friends.
What is your favorite part of KGD?
My favorite part, so far, is not being able to walk anywhere in Davis without seeing someone you know :)
What are your interests?
I love to cook and bake, especially Thai food and lemon bars. I also love to travel and am always up for a weekend road trip. I enjoy reading, listening to music, and riding my bike.
What type of extracurriculars are you involved with?
I am working with BloodSource right now to coordinate blood drives on the UC Davis campus which is really rewarding. In addition, I'm working in a research lab that works with fruit flies and evolutionary biology.
