Meet the Sister
Bella Pendergast
Why did you join KGD?
I joined KGD because I didn’t find a group of friends that I really connected with in my entire first year. Now I feel so close to all of my sisters and I feel like I can go to each of them for anything. It’s an amazing support system. I never pictured myself as a sorority girl, but at the end Spring quarter, I met Nepheli, an active member of KGD. She told me about KGD and introduced me to a bunch of the sisters, and I loved them. They could hold an intellectual conversation, as well as have tons of fun. You could tell from their voices and body language that they were not only extremely passionate about what they’re doing in life, but also about caring for each other and having each other’s back.
How has KGD changed your life?
KGD has not only introduced me to some of the best people I’ve ever met, but it has also advanced my professionalism and provided me with amazing resources of people, ideas, social activities, service events, fundraisers and fun. I few of my ride-or-dies are girls I met through KGD and that has changed my life so much. If I didn’t meet the people I did here in KGD, I honestly have no idea where I would be. But with a sister usually just around the corner of wherever you are, everywhere in Davis is home. My sisters have pushed me to the best version of myself and apply for positions and jobs I would never have applied for without their support.
What is your favorite part of KGD?
My favorite part of KGD is how we run like a well-oiled machine. We are a team, and like I have already mentioned, I love knowing I have these girls for anything. Need a ride to the airport? A sister’s got you. Need to borrow a dress? A sister’s got you. Need help with homework or studying? A sister’s got you.
What are your interests?
Many of my interests involve animals. I love to cook, but I can’t bake. I also am very creative and will to put puffy paint and glitter on things. Haha.
What type of extracurriculars are you involved with?
I have a horse that lives in Rancho Murrieta and I go out to ride him 5 days a week. I also go to the gym very often, I love to run.
I am also the Campus Coordinator for VIDA Volunteer. This summer, a team of UC Davis pre-med, pre-vet, and pre-dental students are going to Guatemala for 2 weeks to provide free healthcare for people and animals of needy communities. Contact me if you’re interested in coming. :)
