Meet the Sister
Catarina Bianchi
Why did you join KGD?
I wanted to join a group of driven, like-minded individuals who also wanted to pursue careers in the health field like me. When I learned more about KGD, I wanted to be a part of a support system that could also help me grow both professionally and academically.
How has KGD changed your life?
KGD has helped me improve my professional and communication skills. Since I have been at Davis, I had been searching for a support system to help and guide me through the pre-vet process, and I believe that KGD has helped me grow emotionally, socially, and academically.
Favorite part of KGD?
I love the opportunities offered through KGD whether it be service events, clinics or internships. There is always something a sister is involved in and can provide information on how to join numerous on-campus or off-campus activities. I also love having 40 sisters that I can count on.
Extracurriculars and interests?
Many of my interests involve animals, but I also love hiking, traveling, cooking, and running. This year I began a club on campus called 27 Heartbeats that fundraises money for medical supplies for various animal clinics in third world countries, including Thailand and South Africa. I work at the UC Davis Mouse Biology Program and also do research on the side.
Fun fact about yourself:
I rode a camel in front of the pyramids in Cairo, Egypt!
