Meet the Sister
Crystal Dang
Why did you join KGD?
I joined KGD because I was looking for a support system to help guide me through the journey of being pre-health. I didn’t feel like I had found my place in Davis, but attending the rush events made me feel like KGD was a place that I belonged.
How has KGD changed your life?
KGD has helped me learn a lot about myself and what I am capable of. Being an introvert at times, it has definitely helped me come out of my shell and pushed me to achieve goals that I would have never imagined. On top of that, I have made so many lifelong bonds with the ladies I call my sisters! I value the connections and relationships I've made through the sorority immensely.
Favorite part of KGD?
My favorite part of KGD is by far the sisterhood and how diverse we are. Though we all share an interest in health, each of us have our own story and life goal. Even with our differing backgrounds, I know I can always count on my sisters to have my back, whether it be for help in a class or just to cheer me up when I’m down! Each sister inspires me in their own way and makes KGD my home away from home.
Extracurriculars and interests?
For someone who hasn't traveled much, I love to explore new places and hope that I will get the opportunity to leave the continent sometime in the near future. I'm currently an Undergraduate Volunteer for Shifa Community Clinic and a Research Assistant at the Memory and Development Lab. Talk to me if you're interested in either! I have great things to say about both as well :)
Fun fact about yourself:
Friday is my favorite day of the week because that’s when new music is released. Music is everything to me! I'm currently into R&B (throwbacks included), Alternative Neo-Soul, and Hip-Hop. I'm very fond of Soulection Radio at the moment! Laughing, animals, and food are also key components to my life.
