Meet the Sister
Yasmin Shamloo
Why did you join KGD?
I joined KGD because I was looking for a group of hard working, driven and passionate women who were just as interesting in the healthcare field as I am. I found exactly that in the girls I now call my sisters and I could not be more grateful.
How has KGD changed your life?
KGD allowed me to practice professionalism in a supportive and caring environment while pushing me to break out of my comfort zone and try new things. I have also gained invaluable communication skills as well as many resources and opportunities that are helping me through the pre-med process.
Favorite part of KGD?
One of my favorite aspects of KGD is the strong support system I have gained from my sisters. I am always able to depend on my sisters for academic, social and emotional support whenever I need it.
Extracurriculars and interests?
I am currently the Director of Mentorship for the UC Davis Undergraduate AMWA chapter in addition to a mentor for the UC Davis Global Ambassador Program. I also have an internship at the UC Davis MIND Institute where I assist with Autism evaluation testing by observing trials and inputting test results.
In my free time, I love to scrapbook and do crafty DIY projects. I also really love to travel the world and explore new places with friends and family.
